Sonho em Movimento - tanztheater- global on the Cape Verde Islands.
Sonho em Movimento is a videodancetheater initiated and directed by Be van Vark/tanztheater-global (Berlin, Germany) and co-produced with the Mindel'act Festival 2011. (Mindelo, Cape Verde).
By bringing together Cape Verdean cultural traditions with Contemporary Dance and Video Art, Sonho em Movimento aesthetically explores identity, happyness, dreams, fears and desires. Be van Vark (Choregrapher and Artistic Director of tanztheater-global) and her team of 3 co-choregraphers/dancers and one videoartist, worked together with seven perfomers from two different Cape Verdean islands: two dancers from Tarrafal (Santiago) who have been working with tanztheater-global for three years now and five performers from Mindelo (Sao Vicente)

Sonho em Movimento is the 3rd performance project of Be van Vark/tanztheater-global with Cape Verdeans on site. As an aesthetic concept, tanztheater-global comprises a specific way of making dance art that has been developed since 2002 by the Berlin choreographer and artistic director Be van Vark.

 A 4ª edição do InShadow – Festival Internacional de Vídeo, Performance e Tecnologias, abre convocatória para recepção de propostas nos géneros:

a)   Vídeo-dança e vídeo-arte / selecção para a Competição Vídeo-dança, na qual os filmes são candidatos a 8 prémios atribuídos pelo Júri Oficial, Júri Escolas, Júri Vo’Arte e público

b)   Documentários sobre processos de criação artística / selecção para exibição na Competição DocShadow

c)    Performance (solos) / a integrar a secção SoloShadow

d)   Instalações / a apresentar em espaços alternativos

InShadow é uma iniciativa inovadora da Vo’Arte em co-produção com o São Luiz Teatro Municipal. Na sua 4ª edição, o Festival volta a afirmar-se como uma referência no território da criação contemporânea transdisciplinar, apresentando propostas inéditas da representação do corpo no ecrã e no palco, com destaque para a convergência entre a imagem e o corpo e processos de criação artística fundados na tecnologia.

A programação integra: Competição de vídeo-dança e vídeo-arte; Competição de documentários – DocShadow; Espectáculos; Performance (solo) – SoloShadow; uma secção destinada ao público infanto-juvenil – LittleShadow, uma forte componente de formação com workshops e masterclasses destinados a público especializado e ao grande público, bem como instalações e exposições que expandem o Festival pela cidade.

4th edition of InShadow – International Festival of Video, Performance and Technologies, opens its call for entries and accepts proposals:

a)   Video-dance, art video / selection to the Video-dance Competition, in which the videos run to 8 awards attributed by the Official Jury, School Jury, Vo’Arte Jury and public

b)   Documentaries on artistic creative processes / selection to screen at the DocShadow Competition

c) Performance  Solos / to present at the SoloShadow program

 d) Installations / to present at alternative venues

InShadow is an innovative initiative promoted by Vo’Arte in co-production with São Luiz Teatro Municipal. At its 4^th edition, the Festival reaffirms itself as a reference in the scope of trans-disciplinary contemporary creation, presenting exclusive proposals of body representation on the screen and stage, highlighting the convergence between image and body and artistic creation processes based on technology.

InShadow ranges a comprehensive program including a Video-Dance Competition; Documentaries Competition – DocShadow; shows; Performances (solos) – SoloShadow; a section aimed to a younger audience – LittleShadow; an important formation section offering workshops and masterclasses for both general and specialized participants, as well as installations and exhibitions that expand the Festival through all the city.

Da busca pela convergência entre conceito, corpo, e olhar, cenas são construídas sobre a dinâmica dos brinquedos de um parque de diversões de pequeno porte, esquecido pela modernidade. 

A video-dança "Par-K" é uma criação da Flux Cia. de Dança, conta com a Direção Geral de Gustavo Arantes, Direção Coreográfica de Andréia Anhaia, Produção Geral de Jackeline Xavier e interpretação dos criadores-intérpretes Carlos Passos e Cleuciane Ferreira.

TAP HEAT Short Film

Tap Heat is an14 min award winning short film starring Arthur Duncan and Jason Samuels Smith that uses dance as dialogue. Different styles of tap, Urban Funk and Traditional Tap, are in conflict where society has decided to accept one style over another. The characters and their styles ultimately find common ground, when the entire cast joins in on stage in a tap dance number reminiscent of the 30's and 40's Broadway musicals, with a contemporary edge that reflects current trends in tap styles today.

Dancers include Jason Samuels Smith, Arthur Duncan, Danny Daniels, Chloe Arnold, Melinda Sullivan, and more, directed by Dean Hargrove, production by Reuben Cannon, Jeff Peters, Steven Poster ASC, and Tony award winning choreographer Danny Daniels and Emmy award winning choreographer Jason Samuel Smith.
